BOS Power secures contract with Fjellstrand

BOS Power has signed a major contract with Fjellstrand to deliver a comprehensive battery electric propulsion system for a newbuilt 55-meter electric catamaran ferry. The partnership underscores BOS Power’s role as a system integrator, responsible for the entire propulsion line from bridge to propeller.
The vessel, designed by Fjellstrand, will be operated by Gulen Skyss AS outside the city of Bergen on Norway’s west coast between Breistein and Valestrand. Scheduled to commence service November 29th 2027, the ferry will carry 50 PBE, cruising at 11 knots.
As a system integrator, BOS Power will deliver the complete electric power system and advanced bridge control systems including automation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
The vessel is designed for low energy consumption and 100% electric operation, with a strong environmental focus.
