Union Vega Offshore has placed an order for two firm 900 m² Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs), with options for an additional four vessels, based on Breeze Ship Design’s next-generation Z 4409 PSV design.

The vessels will be constructed at Fujian Mawei Shipyard, with delivery scheduled for first vessel in 2028. Measuring 84 metres in length, the new design incorporates battery-hybrid propulsion, a moonpool, and accommodation for up to 44 personnel. The vessels are also prepared for the future installation of a 50-tonne Active Heave Compensated (AHC) crane, enhancing their operational flexibility and capability.

WIDE RANGE OF OFFSHORE OPERATIONS
Developed with a strong focus on functionality, efficiency, and adaptability, the Z 4409 PSV has been designed to support a wide range of offshore operations. In addition to conventional platform supply duties, the vessel is well suited for light construction activities, geophysical and seismic support operations, providing operators with a versatile platform capable of serving multiple offshore market segments.

The order marks an important milestone for both Union Vega Offshore and Breeze Ship Design, reflecting continued market confidence in innovative and future-oriented vessel solutions that address the evolving needs of the offshore industry.

“We are delighted to have secured this contract with Fujian Mawei Shipyard, a shipyard with whom we have developed a strong and successful relationship over several years. Together with Union Vega Offshore, we now look forward to taking the next step and delivering a successful project that we believe can set a new benchmark for the next generation of offshore supply vessels.”
