Nor-Shipping and TradeWinds have joined forces to launch Oslo Ocean Days, a new high-level leadership forum for the ocean industries, which will take place in Oslo city centre on 9–10 September 2026. The biennial event will bring together industry leaders, investors and policymakers around fast-moving topics shaping the ocean industries, while providing a setting for insight, dialogue and networking with peers.

Oslo Ocean Days is designed to complement Nor-Shipping and expand the conversation to additional ocean industries. It is structured as a leadership forum, partner platform and networking event built on agenda-setting discussions.

The programme will also encourage and invite partner events alongside the main programme, extending the dialogue beyond the traditional maritime sector. The ambition is for Oslo Ocean Days to become an important biennial week for the global ocean industries, highlighting Oslo as a meeting point for strategic dialogue, investment discussions and new industry alliances.

The 2026 edition will place a particular emphasis on maritime and shipping topics, reflecting the current developments shaping the sector. Hosted across venues in Oslo city centre, the programme will combine a curated conference agenda with networking gatherings, a regatta and a gala dinner at the Oslo Opera House. Final programme details and venues will be announced in due course.

A NEW FORUM FOR OCEAN LEADERSHIP
“We see a need and opportunity for a forum like this, given the fast-moving changes affecting our industry,” says Sidsel Norvik, Director of Nor-Shipping. “Oslo Ocean Days will offer leaders across the ocean industries a natural global meeting place built around a curated, high-level programme in one of the world’s leading ocean capitals.”

“The involvement of TradeWinds will bring valuable insight and expertise to shape an initiative of the highest quality.”

BUILDING THE AGENDA
TradeWinds will drive the creation of a conference programme reflecting the dynamic forces shaping the industry, with speakers and sessions both open and closed, and themes selected for relevance and quality.

“This collaboration reflects the pace and complexity of change across the ocean industries,” says Julian Bray, Editor-in-Chief, TradeWinds. “Through our journalism, we see how rapidly capital flows, regulatory frameworks and geopolitical realities are evolving. Oslo Ocean Days creates a forum where those forces can be addressed directly by the people shaping them.”

“The ambition is substance and relevance. Together with Nor-Shipping, we are building a platform centred on strategic dialogue at the highest level.”

Alongside Nor-Shipping and TradeWinds, leading maritime names have also signed up as partners to develop Oslo Ocean Days. Names include DNB, Höegh Autoliners, Norwegian Maritime Authority, and Skuld.

Following the first edition in September 2026, Oslo Ocean Days will be held in the spring every second year in Oslo.
